About the Scholarship
Establishment of Leone High School’s Class of 1997 Academic Scholarship
Whereas, on the 27th of February 2021, Leone High School Class of 1997 expressly agreed to establish an annual academic scholarship to be named the Class of 1997 Academic Scholarship.
Whereas, by giving back, Leone High School’s Class of 1997 aim to create opportunities and lay a path of hope for two outstanding graduating students who exemplify strong character and commitment to pursue further academic excellence.
Whereas, annually henceforth, a scholarship of $1,000 per academic year will be granted to two graduating Leone High School students with a cumulative 3.75 GPA, a minimum of 1000 SAT or 21 ACT score who have been accepted at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university.
The recipients must demonstrate active contribution to community or school.
Therefore, on the 27th of February 2021, the Class of 1997 established an annual academic scholarship that is implemented and governed henceforth by the Class of 1997 Scholarship Committee.

Leone High School Class of 1997 Academic Scholarship
The Leone High School Class of 1997 aims to lay a path of hope for two young Lion graduates in his or her pursuit of academic excellence in higher education.
Annually, two scholarship recipients are selected by the Class of 1997 Scholarship Committee. The recipients will receive a cash award of $1,000 and a certificate of recognition from the Class of 1997.
Eligible applicants must meet the following requirements:
- A member of Leone High School’s graduating senior class
- Acceptance as a full-time student to an accredited two-year or four-year college or university for the upcoming academic year
- Minimum of 3.75 cumulative GPA
- Minimum of 1000 SAT score or minimum ACT score of 21
- Demonstrate contribution to the community and/or school, i.e., service activities in club
membership or leadership role - Submit a 500-word essay on why he or she is pursuing higher education
